Didn't really have an idea for the comic today, and I spent a lot of time teaching myself some SQL stuff for use with that new web site thing I'm making. That, and working, and having a cold, and turning 21 yesterday, and rocking out. That Less Than Jake concert I spoke of last update? It was AWESOME. Oh yeah. The opening band (Punchline) was kind of ok. They weren't BAD, but... well, they weren't that great, either. Might be partly because I don't know any of their songs very well (unlike both LTJ and Fall Out Boy) and that the mic vocals were a bit hard to hear, and only one of them seemed to really move a lot. After they left, Fall Out Boy took stage, and they were damn good. After them, Rufio (the band that was originally going to follow them) ended up canceling the rest of their shows due to a death in a band member's family, so the replacement they got was... Tommy Two-Tone. Yes, THAT Tommy Two-Tone. The guy who brought us 867-5309 and... well, uh, not much else, but they weren't bad at all. I got my glasses knocked off my head when a fairly large crowdsurfer kind of fell on me, so they got a little bent, but aside from that, it was all good. After that, Less Than Jake got on stage, and jesus christ, I don't remember being shoved around and crushed in a mob of as many tightly-packed people as that and not giving a damn about it. By the last song of their set, my ears were damn near broken, and since I still hadn't taken any pictures, I headed out of the mass of people by way of crowdsurfing. Now, I'd never tried crowdsurfing before, but I really wish I had sooner, because being thrown around by a bunch of people singing Gainesville Rock City while being shoved all over the place is a hell of a lot more fun than advertised. You get a great view of pretty much everything, and when you get up front, security grabs you down and you walk down the side of the huge mass of shoving people, which ends up being a great shortcut to finding your way to the back of the room. Anyway, enough about that, I'll have pictures up later. Other than that, nothing much has been up. Had turkey soup for thanksgiving. Worked retail for Black Friday and thought it was slow. Played Wheel of Fortune a lot today (well, yesterday). That's about all. We'll hopefully be back on schedule with the comics on Tuesday. (c) 2002-2004 Futility.
